Album Info:NS received SD40's from both Southern and Norfolk & Western. Each road ordered less of this model than the SD45. However, both roads found issues with the extra horsepower (and associated maintenance) and ended up embracing the SD40-2. A few were rebuilt for other uses (the "Brick" as well as restoration).
